We are an award-winning team based in San Francisco who works together to get our clients results they want! Our independent and hand-picked trainers focus on your training program and create workouts for you to follow when you're on your own. And, our Registered Dietitian and Certified Exercise Physiologist works with you on your nutrition to get you to the next level. All of our clients follow the WholeBody Reboot meal plans which are integral part of your broader program with the goals of helping you make long-term changes.
We are a team of independent and hand-picked Trainers supported by our team of Certified Exercise Physiologists and a Registered Dietitian who work together to get you results! Our health practitioners, fitness coaches and extended medical partners provide continuing education and resources as needed.
While most of our clients want to tone up, lose weight and gain muscle mass, we work with people at all levels, from professional athletes to people just starting out with exercise.
Our trainers are personable, smart, fun and outgoing. They each come with various backgrounds and experiences with training. They will listen to your needs and goals to continually check in to ensure that you're making progress, one step at a time.

Our approach & what you get
Goal Setting & Planning
Your initial session is a 30-60 minute discussion about your goals, eating habits, injuries and exercise background. This time together gives us a chance to get to know you and what your goals and needs are.
We will pair you with a trainer based on our initial discussion who will then conduct a series of assessments which will help your trainer to develop your training program. Some typical assessments include; posture, movement screen, body composition, body measurements and range of motion.
Your trainer will develop a progressive training program that will change, generally, every 4-6 weeks.
Depending on your goals, we will write out workouts for you to follow when you're not working with your trainer. We make them available online and they are mobile friendly so you can track your progress during your workout. Involved workout plans have an additional cost.
You'll be assigned to one of our nutrition coaches or Manuel Villacorta, Registered Dietitian, and together we will determine what to focus on nutrition-wise. We'll help you implement your program and provide support along the way. Our coaches follow safe and effective guidelines designed by Manuel Villacorta.
7-day nutrition plan*
All of our clients get results by following EatingFree's 7-day meal plans. We will guide you through the process to determine your daily calorie goal and how to begin implementing a new program. There are a variety of nutrition plans to choose from, including: vegetarian, gluten free, vegan, low glycemic, and regular.
We use behavior change and motivational interviewing techniques to encourage you in a way that is both positive and supportive. We will help you build upon your successes, progressively, with small change on top of small change.
We will check in with you weekly and ask you how you are doing with your workouts, with your nutrition and with things in general. Based on your responses we will support you as needed.
You will have access to a secure page where you can ask your Trainer questions related to your program or just to get training support and encouragement when you need it.

We post all of your baseline photos, body composition and body measurements on your very own password-protected, private page on TrainerSanFrancisco.com. This helps us track your progress so you can see how you're coming along.

Credentials for Independent Trainers
We follow guidelines set by the American College of Sports Medicine.
Certified Trainer (CT) Requirements: Personal training certification from an organization accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA) or the Distance Education and Training Council (DETC).
Degreed Trainer (DT) Requirements: Bachelors Degree in Exercise Physiology, Kinesiology, or Psychology along with a nationally recognized personal training certification and CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications.
Master Trainer (MT) Requirements: Masters Degree in Exercise Physiology, Kinesiology, or Psychology along with a nationally recognized personal training certification and CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications.
Training Director: Aaron Dence is a Certified Exercise Physiologist with the American College of Sports Medicine since 2001 and has been training clients for over 18 years.
Independent trainer experience
Level I - Fitness & Weight Loss
A Level I trainer focuses on improving your overall fitness, including toning, conditioning, and designing programs to increase your overall endurance and cardiovascular fitness level.
Level II - Specialized Training & Weight Loss
Your trainer will not only increase your overall fitness, but he/she also has experience with pre- and post-rehabilitation as well as weight loss.
Level III - Body Transformation
Combining many years of experience getting clients results, your trainer will help you make the body transformations that you want to see.
Level IV - Body and Personal Transformation
Your trainer is an expert trainer and coach. He or she will work closely with you and coach you all along the way towards achieving your goals while considering all aspects of your life. You will not only see body transformations but you'll grow personally as well.

Worked as a physical therapy aid in a variety of hospital settings: in-patient, outpatient, aquatic and acute.
Trained the United States Coast Guard cutter swimmers in search and rescue.
Started personal training in 1997 and began coaching swimming in 1995.
Degree in Exercise Physiology.
Conducted research on the reliability and validity of the YMCA sub-maximal cycle ergometer test.
At the University of Jyvaskyla, Finland, I researched and tested a mathematical model that predicted anaerobic and aerobic thresholds.
Co-founded a start-up company that created an iPhone app, Mobile Adventure Walks, which transformed walking into urban adventures through game mechanics.
